Director General

Tambet TiitsMr. TambetTiits commenced in the position as Director General of the Land Board on February 23, 2015. He has a long-term international experience and academic background in the fields related to the Land Board’s activities.

Mr Tiits graduated from the Estonian University of Life Sciences in 1992 with the Master's degree in economics. He has studied in the doctoral programme at the Helsinki University of Technology and participated in further training at Brandon University in Canada and Cornell University in the U.S and at OECD.

Mr. Tiits worked at the Land Board as Advisor and Head of Department in the beginning of 1990ies. Since 1993 to 2015 he was working in private sector being Chairman of the Board of the real estate company DTZ managing the company's activities both in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. In 1999-2009 he was also lecturer at the Estonia Business School.

In 1998-2000, Mr.Tiits was Chairman of the Association of Estonian Surveyors and in 1995-2014 Chairman of the Estonian Association of Appraisers, he has also been a board member in TEGoVA, the European Group of Valuers' Associations.

Mr. Tiits has participated as consultant in several international projects executed by OECD, US Aid, Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, IRRV, Phare, etc. TambetTiits (FRICS) is member in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

In 2005-2014 he was involved in the development of the Estonian Appraisal Standard EVS 875.

He has published articles in the Estonian media and made presentations at conferences and seminars.

The Director General receives visitors between 10.00-12.00 on the first Monday of every month. In advance registration is required either by or phone 665 0603.
